APPA PUBLIC POWER
MANAGERS CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
Networking for Professional
Growth and Impact
RECORDED August 29, 2019, 1:00-2:30 PM EDT
Webinar Highlights:
Networking is an important way to engage with others for the purpose of exchanging information and building relationships. In this webinar, we will explore the opportunities that networking offers for public power leaders to continuously expand and renew their knowledge and awareness…enhance their leadership skills and impact…even find new approaches that others have used successfully to handle difficult situations and problems. We will also explore the benefits and limitations of various networking methods and ways to keep your network viable and useful to you and your networking colleagues.
What You Will Learn:
✔ What Networking Is and What It Is not - Networking comes in many different forms and doesn't necessarily involve joining numerous professional associations…and it is not just about job leads. This webinar will explore ways to network both inside and outside the workplace.
✔ Why Networking Is Important - Connected people are oftentimes the most successful. Whether professional or personal, networking pays dividends throughout your career and lifetime.
✔ How to Identify Networking Opportunities - You can establish networks in just about every aspect of your daily life both within and outside the workplace - other divisions or departments, at a conference, while waiting in line at the grocery store, or meeting others while walking the dog.
✔ How to Employ Different Methods for Networking - Whether in a large group setting, in small groups, or even one-on-one, there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to networking... and smartphone and computer apps allow "online" networking almost anyplace and anytime.
